Preorders for the game are now live at Amazon and Best Buy. GameStop and the PlayStation store also have links up, but are yet to go live with preorders. What is Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth?

As stated above, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth is the second entry in what is now known as the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. It continues on from the end of Final Fantasy 7: Remake, with our favorite party stepping outside the walls of Midgar to continue their journey. While much of the plot is still being kept under wraps, we did dig into the trailer that was released this year during Summer Games Fest to find 7 major details included in it to help point fans in the right direction.

The game's director, Naoki Hamaguchi, has also explained that the game features a "multifaceted world with a high degree of freedom," and a developer comment on Twitter detailed that new characters will join you in battle as well.

Though this game is still yet to be released, Square Enix has also confirmed that the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy -- currently titled Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 -- is in development.
